From an early age, I have always been fixated on the multiple art expressions and how to best able to communicate it. This desire led me to study audiovisual arts and communications at Andrés Bello Catholic University, Venezuela where I graduated in 2016. During my academic career, I had my first opportunity to share my work in a formal exhibition. At the end of 2017 I was invited by the cultural center Librería Lugar Común to present “Accidentes Poéticos: un acercamiento a la poesía de José Watanabe”, a sample of 12 illustrations that aimed to illustrate the poetic language of Peruvian writer José Watanabe.
This first experience served as a springboard to an already full and diverse artistic career. In 2018, my second exposition would quickly follow and nuance the first. Titled simply, “Accidentes poéticos”, it sought to not only express the written word of Watanabe but also the cultural rich city of Caracas. Later in 2019, I inaugurated my third, “The Unreal of the Everyday” in the Caracas French Alliance which branched from my previous exhibits. It intended to visually interpret the magical realisms, or realismos mágicos in Spanish, that can exist in daily life, for example the effects rituals of day laborers may have in their work.
Importantly, my portfolio also includes music and film.
During the past year, I designed the cover art for Nicolás Manzano´s recent album, La Sed and created an animation video used in the Venezuelan film: "Yo y Las Bestias", which is set to be released later this year.
With all this being said, I am excited to share my work with all of you!
